Ringing in the New Year
This New Years Eve found us invited out to the home of our friends.
It was really nice to 'go out' this year. December has been an extremely busy month for me at the girls' school, and with all the events we've been to, camping, etc, and I just didn't have it in me to have my house in order for having people over on NYE this year.
The festivities didn't begin until 7:00, but once it did, things were in full swing. Food in the kitchen, food outside, games going on at the dinning room table, at the kitchen nook table, and in the family room.
There was lots of laughter, lots of hooting and hollering, and lots of people coming in and out all night long.
As midnight approached, there were about 25 people left, and we counted down to the New Year and then toasted with sparkling apple cider. Our friend and Pastor then prayed for the new year that lay ahead and all that it might hold, And then our worship leader led us in a worship song. It was a great, great way to bring in 2010.

We stayed home this year - the first time in probably 15 years! Gary watched a football game, I read a new Amish book, and the girls were at overnights/parties. Different, yet nice. =)
Happy New Year, Darcy!
