For years, I've kinda been known as the Queen of Returns, not so much recently as return policies have changed drastically, and you need a receipt, etc. But when we got married, we got A LOT of duplicate gifts and I was GOOD at returning things, etc. I'm not afraid to take things back, attempt to, etc.
Which leads me to my story...
Last night, Steven's dad stopped by for a visit and we went to dinner at Marie Callendars. We got a pie to bring home to enjoy later in the evening. When the time, we cut into the pie and sat to watch TV, the pie tasted like onions. Ewww! The slice of pie that I was looking forward to indulging in was a huge disappointment to say the least.
Soooo, this morning I returned the rest of the uneaten pie!! Marie Callendars gave me no hassle, and let me even change the selection of pie! So tonight, I will attempt to sit and enjoy another piece of pie!
Do you return things?? What's the strangest thing you've ever returned????

When we got married, we were registered at bed bath and beyond. At that time, they gave cash for returned items without a recipt. So two days after our wedding and two days before our honeymoon we returned so many duplicate items intending to get cash. To make a long story short, they didn't have enough cash to give us, so we baught a dyson vaccume cleaner.
Hmmm, well, the strangest was probably the prime rib that was supposed to be our Christmas dinner one year but it was bad when I opened the package. I've also returned lemons that went bad in a couple of days (hey, I paid $.97 each for those things!).
Maybe the strangest was our king-sized Select Comfort bed that we had for three years before finding out it was growing mildew inside of it!!?
Then there was the time I returned my huband's birthday gift of a spa treatment because he lost his job a few days later. It was supposedly non-refundable, but I dragged my two babies down there and cried out my sob story. I got the money back...and I still have never had a professional manicure or pedicure to this day.
Guess I'll stop now. :D
Kim - I remember the Prime Rib story. Such a memorable Christmas, huh?? LOL. I didn't know about the mattress...Ewww!
Alyssa - I returned stuff for cash too and then went and spent the moola somewhere else. LOL.
Forget about my return story....what kind of pie did you return it for??:)
Well after four attempts at other pies we really wanted, we settled for Coconut Cream (which used to a be a favorite of mine), I returned it for Lemon Cream Cheese. Which is one of our favs. :)
What?
You don't like onion pie?
That's practically a delicacy over here in Texas. You crazy Californian!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding!
LOL, Liz. It was soooo gross. They either stored the cream pie in the same fridgerator unit or something, it was nasty!
Is the Lemon Cream Cheese the one with the graham cracker crust or regular crust? I can't ever keep them straight, but the one with the regular crust is my absolute favorite Marie Callender's pie!!
Yes, the Lemon Cream Cheese pie has the graham cracker crust, a layer of cream cheese mixture, and then a jellied lemon mix atop. YUM!
Well, I am sorry about your bad pie, but Marie Callendars does buy from the greatest Food Distributor.:)
