Gramma's Fudge

This morning, I made a batch of Gramma's Fudge.

This is my second time making the holiday craved chocolate, and I find it amazing at just how easy it is to make.

Growing up, I remember the Christmases that my Mom would make Fudge. My brother and I could hardly wait until it was set and Mom was cutting it up for cookie plates for neighbors, family, Dad's employees, and friends. We would sit there, watching her preciously cut it into the perfect bite size squares, holding out for a piece.

There was one Christmas that my Mom made a batch of fudge and put it out on the cold garage floor to help it set. She lightly placed a kitchen towel over the pan and returned to the kitchen for clean up. Somehow our Cocker Spaniel dog, Ginger, managed to sneak past Mom and was left in the garage. I'm not sure if Mom realized Ginger was missing or what, but she found Ginger feasting on the decadent fudge in the middle of the garage floor. Only Mama knows where or who got that section of the fudge. LOL.

This morning, my fudge can be found on the cold entry way tiles. We have no pets to worry about, only children, and they are both at school. And you can bet that when the sweetness is set and ready to be cut in to, that both my girls will sit anxiously awaiting for a piece just as my brother and I did so long ago...

Oh my gosh! That is the funniest story about the dog getting the fudge! :) Good thing it didn't make her sick!

Seeing this reminds me....I need to get my fudge recipe items. Considering it's only 2 items, it won't take long. :)
