Where Do The Socks Go?

For years, when I heard Mom's talk about how socks went missing, I just didn't understand how it was possible. What did they mean when they couldn't find the matching sock??

Now I can relate.

Hannah is down to only a handful of pairs of socks and I have NO IDEA where they've gone. No idea!

Yep, weird indeed! I just finally threw out a half dozen odd socks last weekend that I finally gave up on finding their mates.

I usually buy all white socks just so that it minimizes the loss. Then I only have to throw away one sock out of the eight in the pack and if others go missing, I'm blissfully unaware their gone. :D

Yes, I only buy white socks too. Makes it easier to pair them up when one does go missing. LOL.

Maybe they are stuck inside a shirt or pair of pants and will turn up next time you (or Steven) wear them. Static cling is a bad thing. A pair of my underwear turned up at Matt's work when it fell from the inside of his freshly washed jacket. UGH!

Maybe they are stuck to pants or a shirt - static cling is a terrible thing. They will turn up at a very inopportune moment. My underwear were found at Matt's work when they fell from his newly washed jacket. And that wasn't the first time my undies showed up clinging to clothing. The first time I "wore" them to work in the hood of my sweater. UGH!

LOL on the comment from Sarah. I found one of those lost socks in my pant leg while walking up to the school one day. Gotta love static cling. I also only buy white socks for the family. I found a few of those lost socks when we moved.... under the washer and dryer, in the sleeper sofa, behind a bed. It's amazing where those little boogers hide. I swore as a kid I wouldn't have a mismatching sock basket like my Mom had with LOTS of socks in it that she would monthly go through and try to match up. I try to go through mine once a week to prevent pile up but still have that darn sock basket. Enough rambling about socks. (Laundry on the brain here). Happy sock matching!! :)

I completely understand! When I fold laundry, I have a "sock basket" where I put EVERY sock that comes out of the dryer. Honestly, I only go through the sock basket & match up socks once a month or so. Generally speaking, everyone digs through the basket every morning & gets a pair. Anyway...when we do fold the socks, there is inevitably a dozen or more single socks without a match. SOOOOOOO frustrating!!!!
