Girls bathing suits.

What's appropriate in your opinion??

One piece or two???

If two pieces, tankini, or bikini??

What are your thoughts?

Originally, we only did one piece suits. We have learned over time that tankini's work better when one needs to use the restroom :) ~ (one piece suits are hard to pull up wet LOL). NEVER a bikini, NEVER a triangle top, and NEVER string ANYTHING. Thank goodness the girl agrees with me, and is more modest in her suit choices than her momma!!

Well, as a mother of girls, and I have these three to choose from, I would say the tankini. IF, they covered the abdomen. If the two pieces met together. Little girls get in the habit of showing their bodies and as they reach teens they don't have a problem with it because they are used to dressing that way. They have lost that natural modesty.

Dressing in bathing suits that reveal too much, or clothes for that matter, that are too revealing, can cause some men and boys to stumble and think impure thoughts. We are told in the bible not to stumble anyone. Better yet, how about purity and modesty just because it is pleasing to God!

I totally agree w/ the commenter above, so ditto to her thoughts.

Also- I guess it depends too, on whether you're talking about girls or women. As an adult, I have modesty convictions that I didn't have when I was younger. NOW days, I don't feel comfortable in ANY sort of bathing suit, so I simply don't own one. I wear a Tshirt & cotton shorts when I swim. It's comfortable & covers me well. (I'll elaborate on my convictions privately if ya want to email me about it.)

While I prefer the look of a one piece bathing suit for Catherine, realistically a 2 piece is much easier for going to the bathroom. I like the tankinis for the coverage, though last year she did have one that showed more tummy but it was still not skimpy....LOL, it had Minnie on it and coordinated with Joe's Mickey swim trunks, I couldn't resist!

I lean toward the one piece because one does not have to worry about constantly tugging at the top or bottom when it shifts while swimming. Easier aquatic frolicking with a one piece.

The more coverage the better as far as I'm concerned.

I think litle girls should have it instilled in them at an early age what is acceptable dress for women as Christians.

It was hard when Darcy was a little girl because bathing suits, one piece suits, were changing so drastically at that time. The thighs were cut all the way to her waist and it was hard to find a bathing suit. Also, at that time our church wouldn't let the girls beach trips if they weren't covered up appropriately.

I told my kids when they lived at home and couldn't do or dress a certain way, and they said "the other kids do"..I said, They can't walk in what they don't know."

Some Moms don't realize the the importance of teaching modesty when the girls are young...by the time they are teenagers the standards will be set and they hopefully will make the right choices for themselves. That's my 2 cents worth.

I am for cute and covered....
