Christmas Menu

I'm in the process of planning out what to make for Christmas dinner and am trying to come up with new ideas, new things to make, etc.

Our usual traditional Christmas menu consists of Ham, a potato of some sort, veggie side dishes, rolls, a cold salad of some sort, etc.

What foods do you traditionally have for Christmas dinner???

We don't really have a tradition, but this year we're having hamburgers on the grill with every condiment you can think of, homemade mac and cheese, salad, and a vegetable.

For our big family get together we normally do the whole ham, scalloped potato thingie. But, for our small family of 5 Christmas eve dinner we started a new tradition about 4 years ago of having tamales. My husband LOVES them and I think they are pretty good, but it is not something I would ever make. So once a year he gets spoiled, this year they are going to be ordered from our favorite Mexican restaurant, Cucas, because I don't have the time or patience with packing and stuff. The kids aren't too fond of our tradtion, but they get over it and still seem to eat them just fine. They would have preferred we pick fish sticks or chicken nuggets for something special. :)

We typically have prime rib. It's SO easy, and this time of year I can get it fairly inexpensively. I usually have baked potatoes and some sort of green veggie to go with it. I think I'm going to try twice baked potatoes this year.
