Apple Crisp

I found this recipe on Leah's blog, South Breeze Farm, and tried it this past weekend and it was the best Apple Crisp recipe I've ever made. My Mom said the recipe sounds just like my Gramma's recipe. At any rate, this one has been tested and approved and put on the menu for Thanksgiving Day!

6 c. apples-peeled, cored and sliced (I used 5 c. Granny Smith and 1 c. Gala Apples)
2 Tbsp. flour
½ c. sugar
2 c. oatmeal
1 ½ c. flour
1 ½ c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, cold

Coat apples with flour and sugar; place in greased glass 9x13 pan.

Combine dry ingredients; cut in butter until crumbly and sprinkle over apples.

Bake at 325° for 40-45 minutes, or until topping is nicely browned and apples are bubbling around the edges.

*** Next time I make this, I'm going to add some cinnamon to the apples, and maybe even some nutmeg to the dry ingredients.

This sounds super yummy. My grandparents (mom's side) have an apple orchard so my grandma makes THE best apple desserts. I can never make them as good as her but this one seems easy enough. Thanks for sharing.
